Completely Terrible

Things went catastrophically wrong. It was a real train wreck. We tried to {compensate|handle the situation, but it was like trying to stop a flood with a teaspoon. We're still picking up the pieces and feeling the blow of this epic fail.

This crisis has spiraled out of control. It's a total fiasco. We've tried just about everything to fix it, but nothing seems to be effective. At this point, it feels like we're doomed. Honestly, I don't know what else to do. This is a nightmare of epic proportions.

This is So Bad, It's Funny (Not Really)

Sometimes you encounter situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but burst out chuckling. It's like your brain tries to make sense of the sheer level of destruction and just resigns itself to fate, opting for laughter as a coping strategy.

But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a sigh.

In the end, you are left with a sense of bewilderment. You wonder about the meaning of it all. Was this intended to be funny?

Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?

Tragedy of Epic Proportions

The tsunami struck without warning, consuming entire towns in its wake. Buildings collapsed like house of cards, and the screams that erupted was deafening. Thousands were left beneath wreckage, their fate precarious. The scale of the disaster was unprecedented, rendering survivors to grapple a future forever scarred.

Rescue efforts sprang into action, battling against time and dangerous conditions to find those still alive. The global community watched in horror Very bad as the full devastating power of the disaster unfolded, offering prayers to the stricken population.

Awful Day Ever

It all started with my case of morning hair. I couldn't figure it to look right. As I was scrambling out the door, I fell and gracefully all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for work.

I with no time to spare. My {boss|mentor|was absolutely furious. I tried to explain, but it was pointless.

The rest of the day was just as bad. Everything. I stay awake.

By the time I reached my destination, I was physically and emotionally wiped out. This day, this terrible day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

Things Went From Bad to Absolutely Terrible

It all started out terribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
